Artist - MILLION NO.1 - MAJCD045 Released 27-09-2004
The first album from Swedish rock giants M.ILL.ION, dating from 1998, remains a classic of the genre and a fine example of European melodic hard rock. Remastered and repackaged with a bonus and added video content, this is the perfect opportunity to pick up on this gem. The album sold extremely well at the time and is long overdue.
This is the first of four re-issues of the early M.ILL.ION albums in preparation for the release of the band’s new album ‘KINGSIZE’ this October.
QUOTE : “..Influenced by the European and British metal of the time, their remastered debut here features a polished hard AOR sound. Bolstered in sound as a six piece (two guitars and keyboards), the sound is a very beefed up Europe (and a darn site better too). `Sign Of Victory` is a strong opener and still played live today. Radio friendly, headbands, much posturing, it should have come out of America!” Joe Geesin –Get Ready To Rock website 2/5
Artist - MILLION WE, OURSELVES & US - MAJCD046 Released 27-09-2004
The band’s second album – originally released in 1994 – is a statement of intent and a declaration of individuality that saw the band’s good time hard rock sound harden and move forward. Tracks like ‘Burn In Hell’ and ‘Judgement Day’ are tough and sinewy rockers of the first order.
QUOTE : “…We, Ourselves and Us took the pop metal sound a stage further. Bigger arrangements and a more aggressive sound, it continued to sell well in Europe, and support to Magnum and Nazareth followed. `Tear Down The Walls` is a strong metal number, but the parp of the first album shines through in other numbers.” Joe Geesin –Get Ready To Rock website 2/5
Artist - MILLION ELECTRIC - MAJCD047 Released 27-09-2004
‘Electric’ was M.ILL.ION’s third studio album – originally released in – and, in the words of the band’s main man and bass player, it’s “…packed with great hard rock songs”. He’s right, of course. By this time, the band had been through a number of line-up changes and had matured into a truly exceptional, kick-ass rock act. Check out ‘Candyman’ and ‘Kiss Of Death’ if you don’t believe us…
QUOTE : “..New drummer and keyboard player, and Electric was the hardest and best so far. Very much a guitar based album, although the keyboards still play their part. The heavy and distorted bass build the sound well too. More mainstream metal with a slight commercial edge. This is the album that should have kicked Bon Jovi into touch.” Joe Geesin –Get Ready To Rock website 3/5
Artist - MILLION DETONATOR - MAJCD048 Released 27-09-2004
‘Detonator’ was to be easily the most mature of the band’s first four album releases and had a hand in establishing the band internationally. With a new line-up firmly in place, M.ILL.ION upped the ante in dramatic fashion with ‘Detonator’ being the end result…
QUOTE : “Summer 1999 and a new vocalist and now down to one guitar, Detonator is another strong and heavy album, with the band finding their own identity at last. Never having bowed to grunge or industrial edges, this is a superb set that, along with Electric, provides much of their live set. Touches of Saxon and Purple, they`re a lot of fun.The band are still going and playing better than ever. And with sleevenotes from bassist BJ Laneby and the odd quicktime video, they`re packaged very well.” Joe Geesin –Get Ready To Rock website 3/5
