Artist Bio
Sometimes separations are impossible to avoid if you want to make headway and grow personally as well as artistically.
Experience shows, however, that this step can frequently turn out to be the basis for true progress. The rock band Dreamtide from Hannover, who have emerged from the remnants of Fair Warning, are on their way, following in the footsteps of their predecessors, possibly even surpassing them. After the demise of the popular melodic rock group, guitarist Helge Engelke, one of the songwriters from the Fair Warning team, risked a new beginning with “Here Comes The Flood”, a riveting debut album, which proved to be more ambitious and versatile than ever before, musically as well as artistically.

Joining forces with Helge were four musicians that proved suitable personally and musically, with vocalist Olaf Senkbeil in particular acting as a link between melodies and instrumental passages.
Senkbeil used to sing for Jack's Hammer and cut a number of background parts for Blind Guardian, now adding a melodic, expressive flair to the new Dreamtide numbers. Drummer CC Behrens and keyboarder Torsten Lüderwald are two former Fair Warning members, and bassist Ole Hempelmann should be a familiar face to most rock fans from his Thunderhead days.

According to Engelke, Dreamtide specialise in: "... rock music that's committed to the song". What he means are compositions with catchy hooklines, gritty melodies and arrangements that always focus on the essentials. No endless solo passages, no high-tech showdowns as ends in themselves, but melodic rock numbers with a thoroughly positive atmosphere. The fact that Helge Engelke is not only a tasteful composer but also a great guitarist doesn't come as a surprise to experts of the genre.

The debut album “Here Comes The Flood” received a huge critical acclaim (Record of the month award on Rock It and Melodic Journey in Germany, Force in Spain and cover story on Rock Report in Benelux) and the success scored helped Helge to gain faith in his steps.

Dreamtide new effort “Dreams For the Daring” to be released about two years after the debut cd, follows in the same tradition offering though new twists in the sound, well represented by the alternate versions that the band offers for the four songs “Eden”, “Land Without Justice” Dreams are Free”, “Live and Let Live”.
Still Dreamtide is a mighty prime time example of German melodic rock and definitely one band to look for!
