MAJESTIC ROCK RECORDS GET UP TO DIRTY TRICKS:
Majestic Rock Records presents re-issues of the three Dirty Tricks albums on CD. All three titles are due for release in Europe April 26.
The debut album from British hard rockers Dirty Tricks is long overdue a CD release – not least of all because their sound perfectly bridges pure 70's hard rock and the NWOBHM sound that was to follow. Kenny Stewart's distinctive vocals and the wonderful guitar playing of John Fraser-Binnie helped set this band apart from their contemporaries.
Originally released by Polydor records in 1975, Dirty Tricks is classic British rock with a hard blues-based edge. It is no surprise at all that, in later years, this excellent band has found cult status around the world…listen and believe!
Added to this classic debut are a clutch of live tracks recorded in London in 1975.
Tracks: Wait Till Saturday . Back Off Evil . Sunshine Day . If You Believe In Me . Too Much Wine . Call Me Up For Love . Marcella . High Life . Hire Car (B-side - Bonus Track) . High Life (Live - Bonus Track) . Back Off Evil (Live - Bonus Track) . Call Me Up For Love (Live - Bonus Track).

1976's Night Man was a worthy successor to the band's debut album. By this time, the USA was starting to take notice of this brash, enthusiastic and exciting young hard rock band and, on the strength of the Night Man album, shows were booked in America. A selection of tracks from this trip are included here, along with a single b-side and two US re-recordings of tracks from the Dirty Tricks debut album.
Dirty Tricks became one of rocks hardest working and most highly regarded acts, and it was in the live arena that they really shone. The vocals of Kenny Stewart, the guitar work of soon-to-be Rogue Male Johnny Fraser-Binnie and the rhythm section of bassist Terry Horbury and drummer John Lee played hard and aimed high…as the bonus tracks on this CD ably show.
Tracks: Night Man . Weekend Raver . Armageddon (Song For A Rainbow) . Fun Brigade . Play Dirty . Now You're Gone . You Got My Soul . Black Diamond . I'm Gonna Get Me A Gun (B-side - bonus track) . Wait Till Saturday (US recording - bonus track) . Too Much Wine (US recording - bonus track) . You Got My Soul (Live - bonus track) . Play Dirty (Live - bonus track).

By the time of Dirty Tricks third and final album, 1977's Hit And Run John Lee had vacated the drum stool in favour of Andy Bierne - later to play with Grand Prix and NWOBHM heroes Lionheart. Musically, its business as usual - hot blooded hard rock with heavy blues overtones. Added to this release are two bonus tracks recorded live in late 1976 at Randy's Rodeo Club in San Antonio, Texas.
Dirty Tricks are no more, although the members continue to work together, with the exception of vocalist Kenny Stewart, in a much lauded Led Zeppelin Tribute act called Stairway To Zeppelin. They can be found most nights of the week somewhere in the UK or on the continent playing to a large and enthusiastic audience. Check them out…and remember what came before.
Tracks: Hit And Run . Get Out On The Street . The Gambler . Road To Deriabah . I've Had These Dreams Before . Walkin' Tall . Last Night Of Freedom . Lost In The Past . You Really Got Me (Live - bonus track) . Get Out On The Street (Live - bonus track).
