Von Groove comes up with their second release of the year. Following the band's return to their harder rocking ways on Driving Off The Edge Of The World, here on their Z Records debut, the band do a 180 and unplug themselves for a 10 track Best Of release.
Tracking through each of their previous records with a couple of tracks from each (including one track off their last album) this album, is acoustic all the way.
The new versions are for the most part very close to their original form, just unplugged and acoustic.
All tracks are transformed successfully, but it is the 2 tracks from what I consider their best ever album that also sound the best here. Fooling Yourself and Tell It To Me are both from the Test Of Faith album. Arguably their finest moment in songwriting, even if some fans thought it too soft. (Shame on you!)
BOTTOM LINE: An enjoyable album, yet not one with a lot of attitude or 'presence'. Instead, standard acoustic renditions of their favourite tunes. Definitely for fans only and those that loved the band's softer touch on Test Of Faith.
