Forever Live was recorded at Liverpool's The Cavern Club late last year.
There is no doubting that Danny Vaughn and Co are a great live band. Their attitude and stage presence shines through in this recording.
The band is a live favorite, combining hits from Tyketto, and album tracks from the two Vaughn albums.
Strung together they form a formidable set of melodic rock classics.
Old and new tracks alike are featured here – with tracks like Bad Water and Was There A Moment from the current album through to Tyketto classics like Forever Young and Wings.
The band are in fine form, with Danny Vaughn in top vocal shape and also clearly enjoying himself, rapping with the crown and hyping things up.
The edited gig featured here covers the full band and also a couple of stripped back acoustic tracks, with only Danny and an acoustic guitar on stage.
In either form things sound great – but Wings acoustically is truly electric.
Not mentioned so far is the sound quality.
In a word – raw. The sound, while definitely a soundboard recording and pro-mix, is pretty rough and certainly not the quality of a major label live release.
But maybe that's where some of the charm is. After all, who wants a live album that features overdubs and piped in crowd and backing vocals? No sign of that here.

The Bottom Line

So if you can pass over the slightly hollow sound of the record and crank it loud to appreciate the vibe of the audience and the band strutting their stuff, you will get a lot of enjoyment out of this.
If you want a polished flawless live album, then take a sample of it first…
Essential for Vaughn fans.
Good art and track list, but it could have been a little longer!
