Turi are fronted by Michael Turi (lead vocals, keys, percussion), with Robert Perez - Guitars & backing vocals; John Kronenburger - Bass, lead vocals on Still Water and backing vocals & Edgar Montes DeOca - Drums & backing vocals, joining him. The American band play their own variety of 80's stadium rock, with a southern blues rock edge. The band's bio mentions a few bands they compare themselves to....Bad Company, Alice Cooper, Allman Brothers, Tangier and Badlands. I agree mostly on the Tangier point. The guys southern rock meets LA glam sound is prime Tangier territory. I also think that vocalist Turi has some Paul Sabu in him, his unmistakable raspy delivery is close to that of Sabu. The songs are a mix of electric and acoustic driven songs, both stripped back ballads and mid tempo rockers to the odd heavier rock anthem. The majority of the album lies between the first two styles - acoustic/electric based mid-tempo rock with that touch of southern charm. | |||
The band also compare to the bluesier parts of Little Caesar's style, especially on Still Water, where the vocals of John Kronenburger match the style of Little Caesar's Ron Young.
