This is a pretty standard release. A little disappointing even.
As a final farewell to their Japanese fans, this is a live album from the band's last tour there recently.
But it's coming hot on the heels of their fantastic double live greatest hits release from a year or two back.
Add to that the fact there is a similar 2CD farewell release available in the UK and that leaves little reason to buy this, other than die hard Thunder fans that have to have everything.
That all said, this is still a flawless live recording that catches the energy and talent of the band and features a dozen great songs, plus a couple of impromptu covers in-between numbers. It's all good fun, but as a swan song release, leaves you wanting more.
A few of their better album tracks and the exclusion of the tragic Play That Funky Music would also help.
BOTTOM LINE: As much as I love the band, I think this release is a missed opportunity.
Instead, I am off to order that double CD to round of my collection of music from one of the UK's greatest rock n roll exports in the last 20 years.
