Fastlane Records are a refreshing melodic rock label. They sign acts that are just a little different and definitely are a glam/punk friendly label.
Needle Park are a mature sounding pop rock outfit.
The fact they thanks Joey C Jones and The Glory Hounds in the liner notes and also have Enuff Z Nuff's Donnie Vie as guest vocalist on two tracks should point towards the musical path these guys are on.
In fact, this is in essence a Glory Hounds off-shoot project. Singer/guitarist Craig Bradford was the Glory Hounds' guitarist and partner Adam Hamilton was the band's drummer.
This is a acoustic driven rock album with touches of fuzz-rock, retro pop and (a little) glam. It's not as glam as Joey C Jones and not as heavy either.
It's actually rather melodic for its genre and also quite laid back in comparison to some others and also other Fastlane signings.
The guys use a mix of electric and acoustic guitars, mixed together seamlessly, with a soft smooth vocal laid over them.
Comparisons? Bugger knows really! I guess a mellower more acoustic driven Enuff Z Nuff….ZNuff meets the Rembrandts? Maybe…
Check it out if you like retro styled pop with a cool modern feel.
