Why do I feel like I am repeating myself? One could safely gather the new Yngwie album, Riot and this together and review them collectively. They really are very similar in vein. So much so that MVP is the Mike Vescara Project - Mike being a former Yngwie vocalist. That should give you a fair idea for what's on offer here. All these three albums are immaculately produced, played and delivered and if you have one, all I can suggest is if the budget can be stretched - go for the other two. But I fear that these might remain Japanese only releases and given their import price that something might get overlooked. Joining Mike on MVP is a range of heavy metal guests including Roland Grapow, Roy Z, Mats Olausson and Joe Stump. That might just put this album in front of the completion. But personally I think there is something lacking here. | |||
Sure there are the huge vocals and the
screaming guitar solo's and generally frantic pace, but I think if you are a fan of this stuff, you have either already got plenty like it already - or you could find a better release on offer, as there are plenty of these albums around at the moment.
