I hope this new Mark Boals solo album gets the exposure and acclaim it deserves as it really is a great album of pure European melodic metal.
You know what the album is gonna be like, with the cover art, the song titles and of course, with the name attached to the album.
The only problem is that Mark has just left the Yngwie Malmsteen band on the back of Yngwie's worst album to date.
Thankfully this is nothing like it. The production is better than War To End All Wars, but could still have been a little tighter.
The musicianship is hot - how could it not be with a backing band of the acclaimed hotshot guitarist Tony McAlpine, powerhouse drummer from Australia Virgil Donati and keyboardist Vitalij Kupril?
The music is everything Yngwie and more, with better songs and production in tow.
Mark sounds in great form, basically nothing like he does on the War To End All Wars album.
The album is a sonic blast of frantic, heavy and technical guitar wizardry and double time drumming, with Mark's unmistakable high force vocals over the top.
BOTTOM LINE: All disappointed Yngwie fans should take advantage of the European pressing of this album and buy it immediately. From and old hand at the melodic metal genre, this is a spot on album for it's genre. Not for the feint hearted and for those that like it heavy, but melodic.

ESSENTIAL FOR: Every Mark Boals and Yngwie fan, fans of Tony Macalpine and fans of great melodic metal.
