707 have recorded three albums prior to this and the last one was something like 20 years ago!
Their last album featured the great Kevin Chalfant on vocals and was a more melodic AOR release.
This album returns the band to their blues roots and features founding member and guitarist Kevin Russell on vocals.
The album is fairly stripped back, entrenched in blues rock and not really anything related to their last AOR tinged album.
Rather it's closer to a rootsy Midwestern feel in the vein of Jeff Healey Band or Ten Tears After.
Even a little Rolling Stones style guitar driven blues rock.
It's an OK record, but doesn't really hit any major high's that suggests melodic rock fans and readers of this site should rush out and purchase it.
BOTTOM LINE: Something to stick on the standby list, rather than the must buy. An OK album with some solid guitar work and some good blues based tunes. For fans of that ilk, it provides some good songwriting and listening.
