ADRENALIN RUSH RELEASE THEIR SELF TITLED DEBUT ON FRONTIERS IN AUGUST:
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of the anticipated Adrenaline Rush self-titled debut album on August 22nd in Europe and August 26th in North America.
Fronted by the gorgeous and talented Tåve Wanning (formerly part of the platinum selling Teen-Pop duo Peaches), Adrenaline Rush promises to fire up the international rock scene with their lethal dose of heavy guitars, infectious hooks and full blown R n' R attitude! The musicians completing the line-up were hand-picked from bands around Stockholm, all having different backgrounds and each of them an important piece of the puzzle.

The debut album was recorded and written under the direction of producer Erik Mårtensson (Eclipse, W.E.T) and features 11 energetic, live-oriented tracks with strong melodies and powerful riffs. The modern production keeps the spirit of the 1980´s alive and should appeal to fans of bands like Danger Danger, Vixen, Dokken, Warrant, Treat and Crazy Lixx.
“We want to entertain and be the soundtrack of the party - it's all about foot-stomping, head-banging tracks that make you want to get up and dance and drive your car much too fast. My favorite track other than the single Change is Playin' to Win, it always gets me in a good mood. Making this record with Erik was a wild ride and I hope you will ENJOY THE RUSH!” – Tåve.

Frontiers launched Adrenaline Rush with the digital release of the first single “Change” in late April. The track can be downloaded via this link from iTunes www.smarturl.it/adrenalinesingleit or listened to via streaming services like Spotify or Deezer.
The single was followed by an EPK that can be seen at youtu.be/AnMPo1zATlE.

The band then went on to play the Frontiers Rock Festival in Milan where their dynamic performance left a lasting impression on the attending rockers. Everything is now finally in place for the release of the album and the band is ready to take the show on the road with this killer new release!

“Adrenaline Rush” track list: Black n' Blue; Change; Generation Left Behind; Girls Gone Wild; When We're Gone; Want it All; Too Young to Die; Oh Yeah!; No No No; Playin' to Win; Hit You Like a Rock.

STEVE PERRY MAKES IT TO THE STAGE FOR THE THIRD TIME:
Steve Perry joins The Eels again, this time in LA for 5 songs: It's A Motherfucker, Only 16, Lights, Open Arms and Loving Touching Squeezing!

From The Hollywood Reporter (www.hollywoodreporter.com) - Journey's Steve Perry Joins Eels Onstage at Orpheum: 'The 20-Year Hermit Thing is Overrated'
6/12/2014 by Tim Appelo
Journey's Steve Perry joins Eels to continue his comeback tour at L.A.'s Orpheum Theater.

After Eels' triumphant performance at L.A.'s Orpheum Theater last night concluded with a five-song encore, including Nilsson's "Turn on Your Radio," the band was joined by Journey's legendary one-time lead vocalist Steve Perry, who has joined them on several dates of their current tour after decades of avoiding the stage.
"The interesting thing about this guy is, he walked away from it all 20 years ago," observed Eels leader Mark Oliver "E" Everett, addressing the crowd from the stage, "and then in Minneapolis, he came back to sing with us. Then he walked away again, and six days later in Washington, D.C., he came back again. And then he walked away again. Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time anywhere in 12 days -- and the first time in L.A. in 20 years -- please welcome Steve Perry!"

"It's been so goddamn long," said Perry to the audience. "I gotta thank the Eels for inviting me out here -- the best band that any singer could want. I met E because of a friend of mine, Patty [Jenkins, director of Monster]. She burnt me a CD of Daisies of the Galaxy, and I told Patty, 'Someday I want to sing that song.'" Then Perry and Eels performed the Eels tune, "It's a Motherf---er."
"Steve motherf---in' Perry! He IS a motherf---er," exulted E, who then joined Perry in a superb rendition of Sam Cooke's "Only 16," which morphed into a bit of Journey's "Open Arms."
"Steve, what about trying one you haven't done in a long time?" asked E. "You did that one 11 days ago."

"How about this one?" said Perry. "I wrote this one in LA, then I joined this band called Journey, moved to San Francisco, and we finished it up ithere, and changed 'L.A.' to 'the Bay.'" Dancing like a man at least 20 years younger than his 65 years, Perry rocked out on "Lights (When the Lights Go Down in the City)," nimbly leaping over the microphone cords perilously snaked around the stage, turning his back on the audience to groove with Eels drummer Knuckles (Derek Brown), then facing the audience to hit the high trills flawlessly, yet with a new rasp in his voice sounding just a bit like E himself.
"The 'cit-ee' is L.A.!" shouted E.

"Here's another," said Perry. "I was 18, working as an assistant engineer in a music studio... I'm out of breath! I guess I haven't done this enough lately to get in shape. Anyway, I was 18, and this girl pulls up in a Corvette with a guy, and they were mackin' it up -- tongue and shit! She denied it. So I wrote a song about it, and it went like this." Perry then launched into "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'," putting his hand to his ear to make the audience sing along (rather well) with the "na na na na" chorus. When he hit the high notes, he sounded like Minnie Riperton on testosterone.
At a party after the show, Knuckles said, "We've been bugging him to perform for years. He came to our rehearsals, we'd play a Journey song, and he'd say, 'Oh, guys, I'm not gonna do that.' He's a sweet guy we're happy to play with, not just because he's Steve Perry, but also 'cause he's a buddy."
"He does 'It's a Motherf---er' completely different," said E. "When I sing it without him, I feel like I'm just like basically talking."

"Listen, I've done the 20-year hermit thing, and it's overrated," said Perry. "Why now? It's a long story, but it has to do with a lot of changes in my life, including losing my girlfriend a year ago, and her wish to hear me sing again." Writer Joel Stein, who plays croquet with Perry and Eels, said, "I know she had cancer." Jon Hamm, a friend of Eels, said, "You've got to remember, Steve's in his 60s -- it's a pretty impressive performance. It was really nice to hear that voice again."
"When he sang 'Only 16,' the hairs stood up on my head," said Eels guitarist and trumpet player P-Boo (Mike Sawitzke). "He sounds better with a rasp, more mature and grown-up."
But all members of Eels' croquet circle urge the public to stop believing in Perry as a croquet player. "He was bad," said Stein. "His croquet nickname was 'Hacksaw' or 'Chainsaw.'"
As an Eels singer, however, Perry shows distinct promise. "I passed the audition!" he said.

A 20 song feel-good CD from 7th heaven is ot now! Spectrum is described as "various Pop/Rock songs, with elements of Alternative, Dance, Country and Hip-Hip sprinkled throughout. This CD will transcend generations with the ability to touch numerous emotions and connecting lyrics."

"I personally feel this is the best CD we have made as a band. It really showcases the talents of all 5 band members and their contribution to the final product will definitely be heard. I am very pleased with the songs on this CD and I personally ask that each and every one of you give it a spin. If you like the CD, I ask that you tell others about it. In a world where we have so much negative influence everywhere, I am proud that this CD is a positive influence and will hopefully touch a emotion, as it did to myself working on it. I want to thank my band members for putting in a great effort towards this CD, especially Keith. I also want to give a shout-out to our original singer, Tony DiGiulio, for helping with writing some of the songs with us. Enjoy this great CD" - Richard Hofherr/7th heaven.

UNRULY CHILD - NEW ALBUM UPDATE:
An update on the pending new material from Unruly Child: "Guy Allison here. As is the case in many artistic endeavors, we have scheduling conflicts that have set us behind our own self-imposed schedule. My touring schedule with the Doobies and Bruce's business schedule with his other creative ventures are usually aligned and easy to work within. However, this last month, Bruce has come down with what appears to be the very same cold/flu that laid me out in April. It's a bad one!
When you're sick, it just sucks to work. So, during this time when we could be finishing up our last bit of recording before my next leg, we've had to postpone our studio time together.
Marcie has also had a family emergency that has taken her attention (understandably) temporarily away from the UC project as well.
We are very eager to finish up these last three tracks, but in keeping with our normal high standards, we have decided to push forward upon my return at the end of June. We completely appreciate everyone's support and patience.
We're very close. And we want it to be right!
Thanks, G. ~ Unruly Child.

R.I.P ANOTHER AUSSIE ROCK LEGEND:
Another day another loss. The Australian rock community has lost another icon - Master Apprentices' frontman Jim Keays has passed away at the age of 67 - www.noise11.com/?p=60631.
R.I.P. Jim.

BOMBAY BLACK ADD NEW DRUMMER:
Attention Bombay Black fans - today we would like to announce that we are saying good-bye to our "Beast". Original drummer Rob McCauley is retiring from life on the road with Bombay Black. With his oldest son making quite a name for himself on the national BMX race circuit, along with running his many business ventures, he has decided to concentrate his efforts toward his family. As much as we will miss him, Rob races BMX as well so we still get to watch him kick some ass - but now on the track instead of the stage.
We wish him the best and hope that you will all take the time to do the same. Don't be surprised to see Rob hanging out with the band at the occasional tour stop. (He still knows how to parallel park that tour bus better than any of our regular pack of drivers.)
As you can imagine, finding a replacement was not easy. Enter Barry Whaley. With over twenty years' experience swinging sticks Barry has played on over 2 dozen different projects as a studio musician and has toured with several bands including Burning Cold, Lost And Labeled and Freakshow. Welcome Barry to the Bombay Black family and come meet him on tour this summer. Things are really starting to heat up in the Bombay Black camp, the new album Walk Of Shame will be going on pre-sale Monday June 23rd. Stay tuned for a look at the album artwork and the first song to be released soon!

THE LAST UPDATE:
Today marks the LAST time the website will be updated in its current form. It's hard to believe I'm actually at this point, but here we are finally. Monday will see the brand new MelodicRock.com unveiled hopefully without a glitch! The new site represents a new way of doing things, but once you find familiarity with it, I'm sure all will agree that the powers of social media integration and the ability to log, search and archive every post, review, artist and more will prove an invaluable resource. Not to mention the ability to comment and share each post.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their loyalty to MelodicRock.com as a source of discovery for this great music we all love.

The current MelodicRock.com site will remain online forever and linked from the new site, but gradually I will move all 16 years' worth of reviews and interviews to the new site for search and archive purposes. No more losing old reviews or searching high and low for them!

Onwards and upwards we go....tune in M
